JANUARY 2022

The CEO of RedCat approached MenuTek with a major challenge. They had just acquired 65 pubs across the UK, all previously operating as independent businesses. New legislation required every site to display full calorie labelling on all menus by 6th April 2022. At the time, RedCat had 1,400 different suppliers, no recipe specifications, no nutritional data and no recipe management system.

MenuTek stepped in, negotiating prices and contracts with Fourth for their Recipe & Menu Engineering system and with TenKites for their Menu Publishing Platform. The team then set to work gathering supplier data, building recipes and structuring a standardised menu framework across multiple brands and sites.

On the morning of 6th April 2022, RedCat’s teams woke up to fully interactive web menus, complete with allergen filtering and calorie information—live across every brand and location.
​
The Fourth Solutions Director handling the account said “…we have never ever seen a team onboard
so much supplier data and build so many recipes so quickly.” The team at MyCompliance, who tested and verified the nutritional data agreed, describing it as “…the most remarkable work in this area we’ve seen: we would have thought that this amount of work would have taken a year and a half at least.”

Roti King, a thriving company with three brands and seven London sites, had a strong reputation and cult following but needed robust systems to scale. Their new CEO, formerly of Itsu, turned to MenuTek to design a structured framework and oversee onboarding.

Over six months, MenuTek set up products, recipes, and menus with step-by-step imagery, training guides, and optimised portioning, all linked to automated labelling. They also streamlined Roti King’s central production, outsourcing core batches to high-quality manufacturers with strict quality controls.

By project completion, Roti King had a best-in-class training framework, customer-facing menus, allergen guides, and an improved supply chain—strong foundations for future growth.
